Typhoon Ondoy is another challenge brought against us by mother nature. Everyone was affected, both rich, poor, normal people, and celebrities. The typhoon somewhat leveled the status of the Filipino people. I see it as a unifying factor which will serve to bring out the values of people so that we can all rise up from the mud which has buried our hopes, dreams and dignity. What saddens me though is that the way authorites treat people is not equal. They prioritize the celebrities instead of the masses. It's probably something like this(personal opinion): 1. Celebrities conatact their manager/ people from the media 2. Whoever the celebrities contacted will contact the authorities 3. Authorities come to the rescue, the fear that if something happens to the celebs they'd get al the bashing from the media since they didnt do anything to help the celebrity who got stranded. But if an ordinary person/people die, they wouldnt get blamed by the media. People would just think that they were'nt able to reach that area or whatever lame reason........The way things work is really crap.... This is just my personal opinion, so if you guys dont agree with me its alright.....we could even exchange ideas or whatever... and oh since im writing this note, pls donate relief goods or provide your services to the various relief centers scattered all around.
